Alpha L Module (1 kW)

Application
Individual use in processes or process areas where regulated DC power supplies are required. Especially electroplating processes, special electrolytic applications, pulse applications.

Product description
The switched-mode rectifier of the PSP Family alpha L type in modular, high-frequency 1/2 19″ technology is equipped with a standardized analog interface. The EMC-compliant, high-quality painted chassis or modules are designed for installation in an industrial control cabinet and feature precise constant regulation of current and voltage with low, constant ripple.

Efficient, load-dependent fan control using “long-life” fans. Clean and safe mains disconnection via an integrated main contactor. Galvanically isolated setpoints and actual values (0 – 10 VDC), optionally also 4 to 20 mA or Profibus DP. The device is short-circuit proof and equipped with overtemperature monitoring. The Alpha L module is also available as an air-cooled desktop unit.

Customer benefits
Especially in so-called multi-circuit power supplies, the devices offer a high degree of packing density, with selective use, central feeding options, and central interfaces for communication and cooling.

Due to the customer-specific design of the multi-circuit power supply, the efficient effect is optimally ensured.

Interfaces
Setpoints:
  • 0 – 10 V standard
  • 0 – 20 mA (optional)
  • 4 – 20 mA (optional)
  • Profibus DP (optional)

FAQ

When should I choose the Alpha L (1 kW) module?

The Alpha L (1 kW) module is suitable if you require a more powerful alternative to the Alpha M (100 A instead of 50 A) and prefer the compact modular design for control cabinet installation.
Yes, from the Alpha L size upwards, an integrated main contactor is included, ensuring safe and clean mains disconnection without the need for external components.
The module is short-circuit proof and equipped with overtemperature monitoring. If the permissible operating temperature is exceeded, the device shuts down safely.
Yes, multiple modules can be operated in parallel for higher total power outputs. For central management of several modules, the MUNK multi-circuit power supply is recommended.
With modular system solutions from MUNK, the output current of a rectifier can be expanded or adapted. By connecting several PSP modules in parallel, the total output can be increased in stages. This allows the existing infrastructure to be maintained while the power reserve grows.
