Module Alpha L (1.5 kW)

Application
Individual use in processes or process areas where regulated DC power supplies are required. Especially electroplating processes, special electrolytic applications, pulse applications.

Product description
The switched-mode rectifier of the PSP Family alpha L type in modular, high-frequency 1/2 19″ technology is equipped with a standardized analog interface. The EMC-compliant, high-quality painted chassis or modules are designed for installation in an industrial control cabinet and feature precise constant regulation of current and voltage with low, constant ripple.

Efficient, load-dependent fan control using long-life fans. Clean and safe mains isolation by means of integrated main contactor (module/chassis from alpha L onwards). Galvanically isolated setpoint and actual values (0-10 VDC), optionally also 4 to 20 mA or Profibus DP. The alpha L module is also available as an air-cooled benchtop device.

Customer benefits
Especially in so-called multi-circuit power supplies, the devices offer a high degree of packing density, with selective use, central feeding options, and central interfaces for communication and cooling.

Due to the customer-specific design of the multi-circuit power supply, the efficient effect is optimally ensured.

Interfaces
Setpoints:
  • 0 – 10 V standard
  • 0 – 20 mA (optional)
  • 4 – 20 mA (optional)
  • Profibus DP (optional)

FAQ

How does the alpha-L (1.5 kW) module differ from the 1 kW variant?

The 1.5 kW module delivers 150 A instead of 100 A output current and is therefore designed for somewhat more power-intensive electroplating processes, while maintaining the same installation size.
A modular rectifier consists of several independent power units (modules) that together generate a higher total output. Each module can be controlled autonomously and can be replaced, expanded, or connected in parallel as needed. The MUNK PSP system uses precisely this principle for scalable power, high serviceability, and maximum system availability.
Yes, all PSP-Family modules have a 100% duty cycle and are designed for continuous operation without time restrictions.
The module is connected to the three-phase industrial network (3 × 400 V / 50 Hz + N + PE) and is typically connected in the control cabinet with a common supply.
The output voltage is continuously adjustable from 0 to 100%, either directly via a potentiometer on the device or via the external analog signal (0–10 V / 4–20 mA).
