PSP Box Alpha M

Application
Surface treatment processes in manual electroplating, laboratory and pilot-plant applications. Mobile use for electropolishing or brush plating, coating technology, pulse applications.

Product description
The compact and easily transportable, switched-mode rectifier unit of the PSP Family alpha M design is quickly ready for use in the PSP Box version. The housing is characterized by a high level of corrosion protection. Depending on the version, a suitable power outlet is sufficient for mains supply. In the simplest form, operation can be current- and voltage-controlled.

Clear, large digital displays provide excellent readability. Optional features include programmable Ah/Amin/Asec counters, timer, ramp functions, and simplified pulse applications. Thanks to the powerful cooling concept with separated cooling-air flow, very little dust accumulates inside the device.

The PSP Box alpha M is also available as an air-cooled module/insert for control cabinet installation.

Customer benefits
Easy to operate, versatile in use. The low-profile design allows multiple units to be stacked easily. Particularly service-friendly thanks to the simple replacement of fans and electronic protective devices. Can also be scaled to increase power if required. Short-circuit-proof and consistently low residual ripple enable use in numerous processes; can also be remotely controlled via PLC or PC if required.

FAQ

Why are Munk rectifiers considered particularly suitable for the zinc-nickel process?

The PSP-Family offers extremely stable current quality, which is essential for uniform nickel content. Thanks to air or water cooling, the series is also suitable for high-current applications. This results in high corrosion resistance and low rejection rates.
The PSP-Family can be optimally retrofitted due to its modular design. Munk offers technical analysis, system evaluation, and integration. The various configurations—wall-mounted unit, benchtop unit, control cabinet module—enable straightforward modernization.
IGBT technology enables high efficiency and low heat dissipation. This significantly reduces electricity costs and cooling requirements. Many companies report noticeable savings and more stable processes after switching to PSP units.
Yes, via the analog interface (0–10 V), the alpha M can be remotely controlled from a PLC or a PC, enabling seamless integration into automated processes.
Optionally, Ah/Amin/Asec counters, timer and ramp functions can be added to control more complex process sequences directly in the device.
