Gamma S Module

Application
Individual use in processes or process areas where regulated DC power supplies are required. Especially electroplating processes, special electrolytic applications, pulse applications.

Product description
The switched-mode rectifier unit of the PSP Family Gamma S type, in modular, high-frequency 19″ technology, is equipped with a standardized analog interface. The EMC-compliant, high-quality painted plug-in units or modules are designed for installation in an industrial control cabinet and feature precise constant current and voltage regulation with low, constant ripple.

Efficient, load-dependent fan control via long-life fans. Clean and safe mains isolation by means of an integrated main contactor. Galvanically isolated setpoints and actual values (0-10 VDC), optionally also 4 to 20 mA or Profibus DP. The device is short-circuit proof and equipped with overtemperature monitoring. The Gamma S module is also available as an air-cooled desktop unit.

Customer benefits
Especially in so-called multi-circuit power supplies, the devices offer a high degree of packing density, with selective use, central feeding options, and central interfaces for communication and cooling.

Due to the customer-specific design of the multi-circuit power supply, the efficient effect is optimally ensured.

Interfaces
Setpoints and actual values:
  • 0 – 10 V standard
  • 0 – 20 mA (optional)
  • 4 – 20 mA (optional)

FAQ

At what power output is the Gamma S module recommended?

The Gamma S module is recommended for applications from 10 kW / 800 A, where the Alpha series’ performance is no longer sufficient.
Yes, the Gamma S is available both as a module for control cabinet installation and as a PSP Box (portable desktop unit).
The Gamma S module is specifically optimized for use in multi-circuit power supplies and offers high packing density with central power input and central communication interfaces.
The Gamma S module achieves a ripple voltage of < 3% across the entire power range. For processes with lower ripple requirements, MUNK recommends Alpha modules.
The Gamma S module is mounted in a 19″ rack frame or directly in the control cabinet. MUNK provides support for mechanical and electrical integration.
