PKA 2

Application
The PKA 2 is the ideal solution for all electroless nickel applications where stainless steel in the system area needs to be protected. The anodic bath protection processor PKA 2 is used in small laboratory systems as well as in large-scale systems.

Product Description
The microprocessor-controlled PKA 2 offers a dynamic mode as well as the option of static operation. Depending on the electrolyte characteristics, the PKA 2 optimizes the bath protection potential and helps to achieve the desired MTO.
A pragmatically designed user interface provides all relevant data and offers the user a high degree of safety at all times. The PKA 2 can be flexibly installed as a wall-mounted unit, 19″ rack-mount, or built-in version.

Customer Benefits
The PKA 2 can be used for all bath sizes. Optionally for use with bath 1 or bath 2. An internal emergency power supply guarantees optimal protection even in the event of a power failure. The freely programmable potential SCAN can be individually adapted to the electrolyte. A temperature-dependent stand-by function protects the passivity of the system.

FAQ

What is the PKA 2 designed for?

The PKA 2 is an anodic bath protection processor specifically developed for electroless nickel plating systems. It protects stainless steel components in the system from unwanted nickel deposition.
With anodic bath protection, an anodic protection voltage is applied to the stainless steel parts to be protected. This prevents nickel from depositing on these surfaces, which significantly extends the service life of the system.
The PKA 2 is always required when stainless steel components (heating coils, tank internals) in electroless nickel plating systems need to be protected from deposits.
The PKA 2 protects all metallic internals in the nickel plating system, especially stainless steel heating coils, sensor sleeves, and tank walls that come into contact with the process solution.
Yes, the PKA 2 can be easily retrofitted into existing electroless nickel plating systems. MUNK provides support for design and integration.
