Ramp-up Setpoint Generator
Type HSG

Application
The HSG ramp-up setpoint generator is used to generate a defined, ramp-shaped voltage increase with a constant ramp-up time. It enables precise and gentle control of the power supply in DC power systems, thereby contributing to the optimization of sensitive processes in electroplating and process engineering.

Product Description
The HSG ramp-up setpoint generator is a compact module for generating a ramp-shaped increasing voltage, which serves as a setpoint specification for a DC power supply. The controlled voltage ramp stabilizes processes, reduces switch-on peaks, and protects system components.

FAQ

What is the HSG2000 used for?

The HSG2000 is a ramp generator that smoothly ramps up the output current or output voltage of a rectifier when it is switched on, in order to avoid current surge loads on the system and process.
Without a ramp generator, switching on high currents too quickly can lead to damage to workpieces (burns, penetration points), overloading of the cabling, or quality problems in the coating layer.
The slope of the start-up ramp is adjustable and can be adapted to the respective process and rectifier type. Exact setting ranges are specified in the data sheet.
The HSG2000 is compatible with MUNK rectifiers that have an analog interface (0–10 V). For other interfaces, MUNK Service is available.
Yes, the HSG2000 can be easily retrofitted as an external accessory. It is connected between the setpoint generator and the rectifier input.
