PowerRack

Application
Plating Processes, Electrolytic Special Applications, Water Treatment, Automated Processes

Product Description
The switch-mode PowerRack is a complete modular rectifier designed as a ready to go system for generating a high DC quality, available in air or water cooling.

PowerRack rectifiers are best characterized by their full control, their range capability and incorporated redundancy as well as robustness. The capsulated 19″ power modules of the PowerRack are by themselves complete rectifier circuits featuring their own EMC filters, accurate contro circuit and cooling circuit. Power Management of the PowerRack is taken over by the digital Master Controller, operated by a micro-processor. Both DC and pulseed DC operation modes are supported. By means of the availalbe interface card, PowerRack systems can be easily integrated in the plant control system. PowerRack is the robust and lasting power supply solution for the plating industry.

PowerRack rectifiers are also available in air-cooling.

Customer Benefits
Especially tailored to the needs of the modern plating industry, PowerRack combines our long-term experience in manufacturing rectifiers for the plating industry with the latest developments available in power electronics and digital control technology. It is the ideal solution for those looking for an affordable solution for today’s requirements, while also enabling future capacity upgrades and keeping operating costs low.

Block diagram
The switch-mode rectifier is featured with the following five functions:
High-frequent disturbances are reduced in the mains filter (1). On the other hand the mains filter is used to dampen the interference voltages. The mains rectifier converts the voltage into DC voltage (2). The power electronics (3) then convert the DC voltage pulse width modulated into a staircase-shaped alternating voltage. The internal transformer (4) stands for a galvanic potential separation and voltage adjustment on the secondary side. On the output side rectification is achieved by fast power diodes (5). On the output side a constantly smoothed and fully controllable DC voltage is generated.
