AC 1200

Application
Special AC devices (sinusoidal) are used for electrolytic coloring of aluminum according to GS or GSX processes. The AC device was specifically developed for these coloring processes to ensure uniform color absorption and reproducible results.

Product Description
The AC 1200 is mostly used in synthetic self-cooled design. For relatively small currents, the air-cooled variant is also possible. The synthetically cooled variant allows installation near the bath due to the robust housing filled with synthetic coolant (protection class IP 54). With the help of a special control unit, various standard colors can be produced according to EUPAS. This makes the AC device a reliable and efficient solution for aluminum finishing.

Customer Benefits
The AC device with synthetic coolant represents a cost-effective entry option for the E-Color process for the user. The device is robust and easy to operate. A special control system allows reproducible surface results. For individual applications and corresponding surfaces, we recommend the DCAC 1200.

FAQ

What is MUNK’s AC unit used for?

The AC unit is an alternating-current unit for colouring aluminium. It serves as an entry-level solution for anodizing shops that want to use reproducible aluminium colouring without complex electronics.
The AC unit is designed with synthetic cooling and, thanks to its robust oil-tank design, has a high degree of protection (IP 54), making it suitable for direct use in the electroplating shop.
Thanks to a special control system, the AC unit delivers reproducible surface results. For even more precise or more customized colour applications, MUNK recommends combining it with the DCAC 1200.
The AC unit is suitable for classic bronze colouring of aluminium (electrolytic colouring with tin or nickel salts) as an entry into colour finishing.
The AC unit has a simpler design, making it more cost-effective and easier to maintain. However, for more demanding or more customized colour processes, the DCAC 1200 offers greater flexibility and precision.
