Alpha S module

Application
Individual use in processes or process areas where regulated DC power supplies are required. Especially electroplating processes, special electrolytic applications, pulse applications.

Product description
The switched-mode rectifier alpha S in modular, high-frequency 19″ technology is equipped with a standardized analog interface. The EMC-compliant, high-quality painted plug-in units or modules are intended for installation in an industrial control cabinet and feature precise constant control of current and voltage with low, constant ripple.

Efficient, load-dependent fan control is provided by “long-life” fans. Galvanically isolated setpoints and actual values (0 – 10 VDC), optionally also 4 to 20 mA or Profibus DP. The device is short-circuit proof and is equipped with overtemperature monitoring. The alpha S module is also available as an air-cooled benchtop unit.

Customer benefits
Especially in so-called multi-circuit power supplies, the devices offer a high degree of packing density, with selective use, central feeding options, and central interfaces for communication and cooling.

Due to the customer-specific design of the multi-circuit power supply, the efficient effect is optimally ensured.

FAQ

What is the difference between a module and a PSP box?

Modules and plug-in units are designed for installation in industrial control cabinets (19″ technology), whereas PSP boxes are operated as standalone, portable benchtop units.
Modules and plug-in units are designed for installation in control cabinets and obtain their protection from the surrounding enclosure. The device itself is short-circuit proof and monitored for overtemperature.
Multiple alpha-S modules can be supplied via a central feed in the control cabinet. MUNK’s multi-circuit power supply system is specifically designed for such high-density installations.
The alpha-S module provides setpoints 0 – 10 V (standard) or 0 – 20 mA (optional), as well as actual values 0 – Urated and 0 – 60 mV as standard.
The alpha-S module is based on ½-19″ technology, making it particularly compact. Exact dimensions are provided in the data sheet and are available from MUNK on request.
