Alpha XL Module

Application
Individual use in processes or process areas where regulated DC power supplies are required. Especially electroplating processes, special electrolytic applications, pulse applications.

Product Description
The switched-mode rectifier of the PSP Family alpha XL series in modular, high-frequency 19″ technology is equipped with a standardized analog interface. The EMC-compliant, high-quality powder-coated chassis or modules are designed for installation in industrial control cabinets and feature precise constant regulation of current and voltage with low, constant ripple.

Efficient, load-dependent fan control using long-life fans. Clean and safe mains isolation via integrated main contactor (module/chassis from alpha L onwards). Galvanically isolated setpoint and actual values (0–10 VDC), optionally also 4 to 20 mA or Profibus DP. The device is short-circuit-proof and equipped with overtemperature monitoring. The alpha XL module is also available as an air-cooled benchtop unit.

Customer benefits
Especially in so-called multi-circuit power supplies, the devices offer a high degree of packing density, with selective use, central feeding options, and central interfaces for communication and cooling.

Due to the customer-specific design of the multi-circuit power supply, the efficient effect is optimally ensured.

FAQ

For which high-performance applications is the alpha XL module suitable?

The alpha XL module with 3 kW / 600 A is suitable for high-current electroplating processes as well as pulse applications where a compact modular design is required.
Yes, the alpha XL module supports pulse applications and can be used in combination with appropriate control software for more complex pulse programs.
The residual ripple is less than 1% across the entire power range, enabling high-quality depositions in electroplating.
The number of modules depends on the available installation depth and cabinet size. MUNK offers scalable system solutions for multiple modules with the PowerRack and PowerCabinet.
In addition to the standard analog interface (0–10 V), Profibus DP, ProfiNET, Modbus, and other fieldbuses are optionally available.
