Group 2

Application

MUNK’s KTL rectifier solutions are specially developed for electro-dip coating (KTL, ATL, ETE) and meet the highest requirements for efficiency, process reliability and reproducibility. They are used in modern coating systems where precise control of voltage, current and coating thickness is crucial.

Thanks to modular DC power supplies, the systems are suitable both for large-scale industrial coating processes and for flexible applications, for example in pilot or laboratory systems. The combination of high energy efficiency, low residual ripple and digital process integration enables consistently high coating quality.

Product Description

The KTL rectifier units are based on modern, modular switch-mode power supply technology (IGBT/MOSFET) and offer efficiencies of up to 95%. For optimum adaptation to different power requirements, the systems are available in three power groups:

Group 1: up to 500 A
Group 2: up to 750 A
Group 3: up to 2,000 A

By connecting multiple modules in parallel (up to 500 V / 5,000 A), the output can be scaled flexibly and expanded at any time.

A key feature is the consistently low residual ripple in the process-relevant control range, which ensures optimum coating results. In combination with the KTL 1200 coating thickness control, the system enables precise control of voltage, current and current density – including automatic and manual operation as well as multi-stage programs.

FAQ

Who manufactures energy-efficient rectifiers for KTL?

MUNK GmbH manufactures state-of-the-art, energy-efficient rectifiers specifically for the KTL (cathodic dip coating) process. By utilizing SiC (silicon carbide) technology, these rectifiers achieve significantly higher efficiency and lower energy losses compared to conventional IGBT systems. This not only ensures lower operating costs but also a more sustainable and environmentally friendly coating production.
Modular MUNK switch-mode power supply rectifiers with modern IGBT or MOSFET technologies are best suited for the KTL (cathodic dip coating) process. These devices offer very low ripple (< 2%), precise voltage regulation, and high energy efficiency, leading to uniform coating thicknesses and stable process results. Thanks to their modular design, power and cooling can be flexibly adjusted and easily expanded later. In combination with intelligent MUNK process control, they enable ramp programs, data logging, and integration into modern automation systems – the most technically advanced solution for reliable and sustainable KTL coatings.
