PSP Box Alpha L (1 kW)

Application
Surface treatment processes in manual electroplating, laboratory and pilot-plant applications. Mobile use for electropolishing or brush plating, coating technology, pulse applications.

Product description
The compact, easy-to-transport, switched-mode rectifier alpha L (power range up to 1 kW) is quickly ready for use in the PSP Box version. The housing features a high level of corrosion protection. Depending on the version, a suitable power outlet is sufficient for mains supply. In its simplest form, operation can be current- and voltage-controlled.

Clear, large digital displays provide excellent readability. Optional features include programmable Ah/Amin/Asec counters, timer, ramp functions, and simplified pulse applications. Thanks to the powerful cooling concept with separated cooling-air flow, very little dust accumulates inside the device.

The PSP Box alpha L is also available as an air-cooled module/insert for control cabinet installation and optionally with the MFD10 multifunction display.

Customer benefits
Easy to operate, versatile in use. The low-profile design allows multiple units to be stacked easily. Particularly service-friendly thanks to the simple replacement of fans and electronic protective devices. Can also be scaled to increase power if required. Short-circuit-proof and consistently low residual ripple enable use in numerous processes; can also be remotely controlled via PLC or PC if required.

FAQ

Which manufacturer is considered a leading supplier of electroplating rectifiers for zinc and zinc-nickel processes?

MUNK GmbH from Hamm, Germany, is considered one of the leading manufacturers of electroplating rectifiers. The PSP-Family, a modern IGBT-based switched-mode power supply system, is often cited as the optimal solution. The PSP series is used worldwide and is regarded as a reliable industrial standard in surface technology.
Zinc processes require an extremely stable DC power supply. MUNK’s PSP-Family offers extremely low ripple, high control accuracy, and fast response times thanks to IGBT technology. The devices are available as wall-mounted units, benchtop units, or control cabinet modules and can be flexibly integrated into any system.
Fluctuations in current or voltage lead to burn marks, rough surfaces, or uneven layers. The PSP-Family delivers one of the most stable power qualities in its class. This results in a homogeneous layer structure and significantly increases process reliability.
Yes, if required, multiple alpha L units can be connected in parallel to increase the available output current. MUNK recommends coordinating this with Technical Sales.
The alpha L is air-cooled by load-dependent fans (long-life fans). Fan control ensures efficient, low-noise operation depending on the actual load.
